Twitter and Who is Making Money

My buddy in Silicon Valley sent me this article exposing some of the “behind the scene” twitter action.

I was shocked and to be honest, a bit jealous. Guess I have to make the move to So Cal and become a reality star.

The truth is most tweeters won’t get that kind of coin for there 1 liners but there still is money and market share for the average Joe.

Erik and I created a video that was originally only for members about Twitter tools, secrets, and techniques but I’m feeling awfully generous and convinced Erik to put it up on a public site.

Nothing to sell to you just some good ole’ behind the scenes goofing off and information.

The Power of Listening

Last Tuesday Spencer and I held our second local “MeetUp.com” meeting in Sandy, Utah.  Doing these “meet-ups” has been an amazing experience for everyone involved.  We were overwhelmed with the number of sign-ups and attendees we had from our first 2 meetings.  But it wasn’t the number of people who came but the reactions we have received from this group to our presentations.

Ustream TV Show and Meetup Group

You Don’t Pick Your Passions…They Pick You

Does that sound crazy or does it make sense? Not to get too philosophical…but I know that everyone has a purpose to fulfill on this earth. Whether it is to create beautiful music or artwork for others to enjoy, raise awesome children, or develop an invention that changes the world. Everyone’s purpose is important regardless of the scale, as we measure it. The blend of personalities and purposes brings diversity and beauty to our lives. Thus, we cannot make the judgement that what is right for us should be right for others.

This makes me think of Robinson Kreutznaer (Crusoe) who although received sound counsel from his father to be content with the “safe” middle class life he had been handed, he could not resist the inclination that led him so strongly against his father’s command and against all the entreaties and persuasions of his mother and friends. That inclination, back in the 1650’s as the story goes, was to head out to the seas.

Free MP3 of Tribes by Seth Godin

Have you ever read a book that just captivated you?

For me, in 2009 that book was “Tribes” by Seth Godin.  In fact, I listened to it on my iPod 3 times in a single week as I drove from Utah to San Diego this summer.

Seth inspired within me a desire to lead.  He says “we need you to lead us” and that spoke directly to my soul. But more importantly, he inspired me to shake away the  doubts and fears in my head and to follow my passion!
